Connect messaging platforms
Let your Ultimo Bot handle Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, and WhatsApp messages automatically. Connect your accounts, assign a bot, and your visitors get instant responses around the clock.
Supported platforms
Facebook Messenger
Connect your Facebook Page to let your bot automatically reply to Messenger conversations. Ultimo uses Facebook's Graph API and subscribes to message webhooks. Once connected, select which bot handles replies and toggle auto-response on or off per conversation.
Instagram Direct Messages
Connect your Instagram business account (linked to a Facebook Page) to handle DMs automatically. Ultimo connects via Facebook OAuth and subscribes to Instagram messaging webhooks. Your bot can reply to customer inquiries 24/7.
WhatsApp Business
Connect your WhatsApp Business account using Facebook's Embedded Signup flow. Ultimo integrates with the WhatsApp Cloud API to send and receive messages. Auto-response handles incoming messages while you focus on other tasks.
Slack (Coming Soon)
Slack integration is on the roadmap. Once available, you will be able to connect your Slack workspace and let your bot respond to messages in designated channels.
How to connect a platform
Navigate to the Social Media Connect section from the Connect menu in the sidebar.
Click the card for the platform you want to connect (Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp).
Complete the OAuth authorization flow. You will be redirected to the platform to grant permissions.
Select which bot should handle messages for this connection using the bot selection dialog.
Your connection is now active. The bot will automatically respond to incoming messages on that platform.
Managing your connections
Bot assignment
Choose which bot handles messages for each connected platform. You can change the assigned bot at any time from the Manage Connections view.
Auto-response toggle
Control whether the bot responds automatically to each conversation. Turn auto-response off for specific sessions when you want to handle them manually.
Manual messaging
Send messages directly to Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp contacts from the Ultimo dashboard. This is useful for following up on conversations or handling complex queries the bot cannot resolve.
Chat Histories
View all social media conversations in the Chat Histories tab under Analytics. Filter by platform (Facebook, Instagram) to find specific conversations.
Manage Connections
View all active social media connections, see which bot is assigned to each, and disconnect platforms you no longer need. Disconnecting stops auto-responses immediately.

If Facebook permissions are not granted correctly, a troubleshooting guide walks you through the six steps to fix common issues like missing page permissions or webhook subscriptions.
Tips for success
- Make sure your Facebook Page has messaging enabled before connecting. Go to Page Settings > Messaging in Facebook.
- For Instagram, your account must be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
- Test the auto-response by sending a message to your connected page from a different account.
- Use the auto-response toggle to disable the bot for specific conversations when you need to reply personally.
- Review Chat Histories regularly to see how the bot handles social media conversations and improve its knowledge.
- If you manage multiple brands, connect each platform to a different bot for tailored responses.
