Craft the perfect chat experience
The Design tab lets you style every detail of the Ultimo widget -- copy, colors, layout, icons, fonts, and live previews. This guide walks through each area so you can match the chat to your brand without touching code.
Messaging tweaks
Start with the words your customers see first.
Chat header text
Update the friendly greeting that sits at the top of your widget. You can use up to 60 characters and even add emojis.
Welcome messages
Add up to three short lines that the bot uses when a conversation starts. Great for seasonal greetings or handoff cues.
Predefined questions
Surface FAQs as tappable chips inside the widget and in the dashboard test modal. You can add up to 3 suggested questions to steer visitors toward popular topics.
Pop-up message
Enable a pop-up bubble that appears after a configurable delay (in seconds) to grab attention and invite visitors to chat.
Input placeholder
Customize the text inside the chat input. Keep it crisp -- 40 characters max.
Color controls
Fine-tune every color in the widget to match your brand exactly.
Theme color
Set your primary brand color. This drives the widget button, active states, and accent elements.
Header background color
Choose a dedicated background color for the chat header bar.
Hover color
Pick the color that buttons and interactive elements show when hovered.
User message color
Set the background color for messages sent by the visitor.
Bot message background color
Choose the background for bot replies. A subtle shade keeps the conversation easy to follow.
Layout, size, and extras
Control where the widget appears, how big it is, and the finishing touches.
Widget position (left/right)
Align the widget to the left or right side of the screen.
Vertical position
Adjust the distance from the bottom of the screen.
Widget size
Use the size slider to make the widget larger or smaller.
Border radius
Customize how rounded the widget corners are.
Pulsing animation
Toggle the gentle pulse effect on the floating chat button.
Font selection
Choose from 20+ Google Fonts to match your brand.
Powered-by removal
On paid plans, remove the Powered by Ultimo Bots branding.
Icons, logos, and avatars
Everything you upload has built-in cropping so it looks sharp.
Widget icon
Upload a square image to replace the round chat bubble icon. Built-in cropping ensures it fits perfectly.
Header logo
Add your logo next to the chat title for extra trust. Built-in cropping included.
Avatar
Give your bot a face. The avatar shows beside each bot reply and can be swapped anytime. Built-in cropping included.
Friendly reminders
- Save whenever you are happy with the look -- unsaved changes are clearly flagged.
- Take advantage of the screenshot refresh if you have redesigned your site.
- Test your new palette immediately in the Bots > Test page to confirm accessible contrast.
- Use the font selector to match your website typography for a seamless experience.
- If you run multiple bots, keep a design checklist so each follows the same visual guidelines.
- Removing Powered by branding requires a paid plan. The option appears after upgrading.
