Understand every conversation

The Insights tab blends KPIs, charts, a country distribution map, and chat transcripts so you can measure how each Ultimo Bot performs. Here is how to read it like a pro.

Key interface highlights

Multi-bot selector

Pick up to five bots at once. The dropdown supports checkboxes, search, and stores your selection in local storage.

Flexible date range

The dual date pickers respect the user's preferred format (YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MM-YYYY, etc.) and update every chart instantly.

KPI cards

Four cards at the top of the dashboard summarize your key metrics at a glance. Total Chats shows how many conversations started in the selected period. Messages per Chat reveals the average depth of each conversation. Total Messages counts every message exchanged. Average Response Time measures how quickly your bot replies.

Dual line charts

Activity and Total Messages charts share the same date labels so you can compare conversation count vs. engagement at a glance.

Country distribution map

An interactive world map shows where your visitors come from. Countries are color-scaled by chat volume, and you can zoom, pan, and hover for tooltips with exact counts. A legend helps you interpret the color range.

Session explorer

Accordion view lists each chat session with the last user question, full transcript, and source citations pulled from knowledge.

Safe exports

The Download button opens a confirmation modal and generates Excel files per selected bot -- including metadata for auditing.

Walkthrough

  1. Use the tabs in Analytics to choose Insights, Chat Histories, Leads, or Reporting. Insights opens by default.

  2. Select one or more bots (up to five) and set the date window. Data reloads automatically.

  3. Review the KPI cards for a quick pulse: Total Chats, Messages per Chat, Total Messages, and Average Response Time.

  4. Scroll to the country distribution map to see geographic patterns in your visitor traffic.

  5. Check the dual line charts for trends over your selected date range.

  6. Scroll down to the chat history section to expand recent sessions. Use 'Add as Q&A' directly from transcripts if you spot gaps.

  7. Need a backup? Click Download, confirm the range, and Ultimo serves the Excel file to your browser.

Helpful reminders

  • Filter to a single bot when troubleshooting; multi-bot mode is best for measuring adoption across a portfolio.
  • Match the date format in Settings > Account so exported spreadsheets align with your locale.
  • Use the session explorer's source list to verify which documents or links answered each question.
  • Run a weekly download for compliance; the file names include bot IDs automatically.
  • Use the country map to identify new markets -- if you see unexpected traffic from a region, consider adding translations.
